A Sibling Evening...

Gabe and I spent our "Sibling Evening" at Casa de Canterbury Place and Whole Foods which are two of my favorite hangouts! It's odd how i look up to my little brother..... typically it's the opposite but, nonetheless, I do.... Truly he is one of the most amazing people i surround myself with! NOT to mention he is totally kewl which I'm most certain is a sibling passed trait! I learned he makes his own Muscadine Wine, which he describes as "remarkable"! I mean, how neat of a hobby is THAT? Who knew there was a creative cultured personality behind that "big deer hunting beast"? Gabe can do it all.... Check out the yummy bedtime snack I made him! Love you Gabe and Thank You for being my brother, my favorite brother!

Milo's Extra Meat

http://www.miloshamburgers.com/
Only in Alabama could an individual come up with a gravy burger served with cheese seasoned fries and the best sweetest tea with the most perfect shaved ice. Milo's has been in the Magic City since 1946 and is currently ONLY located in Sweet Home Alabama. My parents and grandparents have been taking me there for as long as i can remember! YES, i am a fan of the gravy burger and i happily will admit so! After 26 some odd years of eating Milo's I had a good friend pose a very valid question: "What's with the extra piece of meat?". I guess it could be a "free gift" or perhaps its the extra pieces of meat they have left over from pressing the meat into patties or maybe they might just want this to be unexplained keeping customers coming back for more.... YES, this may be a unsolved mystery however Milo's will forever be yummy in my tummy!

Out with the OLD in with the NEW KNOBS!

This past Sunday Da Boy and I started off our little project with a date to Brio! My back door knobs have been a pill lately and have actually caused me to get locked out of my house TWICE! Once was with Seth and he so craft like got us entrance. The other time was with Da Boy this past Sunday as we were on the way back to my house to fix the actual issue. Luckily we went to his house and got back up entry! SO, back to the locks...... Two Wal-Mart trips later I had two new sets of knobs to replace the back door and garage door LOCKS & KNOBS. Da Boy helped me install them and of course you know Griff helped us. Da Boy and Griff love each other... See for yourself.
P.S. The lock and knob in this picture is the OLD one! Now I have two sets of shiney gold locks and knobs!

Happy Birthday Erin Elliot!

Happy 28th Birthday to my cheese loving friend Erin Pietrzak Elliot! This probably isn't the best Birthday Erin has ever had but, we promise to recognize and celebrate it when she gets back in town! I love you girl!!!
P.S. This isn't a picture of her holding a slice of cake. This is a HUGE slice of.... you guessed it: CHEESE. She loves the stuff....

How does YOUR garden grow?

Well, my garden grow's on my porch in clay pots! I planted: Rosemary, Dill, Thyme, Lettuce, Cherry Tomatoes, Cayenne Pepper, Basil, Green Pepper's, Cilantro, AND Cucumber! I also planted Parsley but, I've been told that is NOT a Summer plant, so we will see...... I'm real excited about my garden and can't wait to see what it produces. What did you plant this year?

A Blackwell's Birthday Celebration

Gabe, Cousin Brittney and myself met Tiff and Jerm at J.Alexander's to celebrate her Birthday dinner before we met the crew at Blackwell's. I haven't been to J.Alexander's http://www.jalexanders.com/index.htm in SOME time and really have forgotten what I'm missing! To my defense it's not in my beaten path. It's in WHO WHO Hoover.... It was DELICIOUS! We got Spinach Dip, Gabe and I shared a burger and I sampled a bit of everyone elses food. I believe this is a good transition to tell a story....

J.Alexander/Rattlesnake Pasta/Kelsey Story:
Our favorite Restaurant in High School was J.Alexander's, hands down We would always start out with their Spinach Cheese Dip, duh! Kelsey's absolute favorite was the Rattlesnake Pasta which one might assume contains rattlesnake but, no only chicken.... After a night of drinking 6 Icehouse beverages a piece us girls went back to The Meyer Home to spend the night. We all stumbled in the Meyer home and found our respective bedtime snacks. I chose the Rattlesnake Pasta which there was a TON of cause KJ ate like a bird! Well I knew she wasn't going to approve of this move so I didn't eat it all. The next morning I hear such chaotic commotion i think Mick (their family dog) is stuck in the garbage disposal! My drunken consideration had only left Kelsey only ONE noodle of her Rattlesnake Pasta! She NEVER let me live that moment down. There was also a Manny's Bagel incident where apparently I didn't leave her enough cream cheese. TO be so little she was serious about her food. Love you Kelsey!

Okay back to The Blackwell Birthday Party:
After J.Alexander's we made our way to Blackwell's http://www.blackwellspub.com/ which is SO conveniently located directly behind my house, if i haven't already shared that with you. This was the bar's Grand Opening weekend so it was extra packed. It used to be an old Movie Gallery and to commemorate its original structure they left their movie drop off box. No one knows exactly how the sammich got there but, throughout the night it was a focal point of discussion. We all had a blast! Happy Birthday Butter and Tiff'er! Love you Friends.

Bowling for Bradley & Bell's Birthday

Little did I know how special this night would be until weeks later. We went bowling Saturday January 24th on Highway 280 for Jason Bradley and Clint Bell's 27th Birthday! It was the last night I hung out with Kelsey. Kelsey had a great time on this particular evening and for that I am most thankful. We miss you GIRL!

A PF Chang Dinner

I went to dinner with a dear friend last week to the local PF Changs and noticed many things. The most interesting was how the man to the far right had his legs crossed however what held my interest the most was.... Where was his table from? (you could tell they weren't from these parts) AND...... What were they doing in B'ham??? We came up with many different stories and that was fun. Dinner was a success!

PF Changs is good although its a chain and it made me think.... B'ham doesn't have a really good traditional Chinese restaurant. I enjoyed going to the sketchy Chinese Market off of Valley Avenue (that should say enough) until I saw the bucket of "bull frags" after i had eaten one night. Also the cashier didn't stop his porn clip while ringing us up and that prolly grossed me out more.

The always comical, Irish, had to pose by the BUG that's license tag read, "SINWAGON"... As we were driving off I noticed a mighty fancy "tour bus" which we stopped and examined. Of course...... it was the "out~of~towner's", TOUR BUS.... duhhhhhhh!

A day at the Leeds Bass Pro Shop

WE started the morning by making a large breakfast at the Leeds house. The highlight of the entire day was watching Blake read the instructions on the bacon package. Lets just say Liam was the only one impressed with the Bass Pro Shop.... HOW fancy is the camo lingeree???

Griffin, Blake and Irish Birthday Celebration

After hopping from Zydeco where Rebith Brass Band cancelled to Workplay where we snuck in to see Perpetual Groove we finally ended up at Innisfree which was our most short lived visit, thankfully. A great time was had by all and in my eyes it was a successful birthday celebration for all...

Don Siegelman does Pita Stop for Lunch and so does Butter, Tiffany & Rachel

Last week, I met Tiffany and Butter at Pita Stop for lunch. Low and behold Ex Alabama Governor Don Siegelman was dining at the very same establishment. Being a Certified Fraud Examiner, it was like I had seen someone famous. Although he isn't famous, I have read many articles on the man and his corruptful ways. This is not the best picture but, if you look under the circular metal thing hanging on the wall you will find one Corruptive Gov. Siegelman! Neither Tiffany nor Butter was as giddy about the sighting as I was..... BUT, who figured they would be???
